Dr. JacksonPeter A. Jackson DVM

Dr. Jackson grew up in Spring Lake and Grand Rapids, graduating from East Grand Rapids High School in 1976. He joined the Air Force after graduation, was trained in law enforcement and stationed in the Philippines as a K-9 Handler. He was then certified in narcotics detection using a drug dog. Upon returning to the United States, he was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base outside Washington D.C. and was trained in K-9 explosives detection. He has worked for Air Force One and guarded both Presidents Carter and Reagan along with dignitaries from many different countries including Prince Charles, Anwar Sadat and Pope John Paul. After leaving the Air Force, he attended university and graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He started a practice in Newaygo and owned it for 10 years, and then decided to relocate to the lakeshore area, where he started the Lifetime Veterinary Care in 2004. Dr. Jackson's professional interests are acupunture and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, nutrition and wellness care that gives pets the best life possible by detecting problems early. Personal intertestes include; clawhammer banjo, old time fiddle, flatpick guitar, luthiery, cycling and aviation (he is a commercially rated pilot with both an instrument and multiengine rating.) His wife’s name is Laura, and they have three children, Lee, Kelsi and Dale, and share their house with various and sundry cats and dogs.

Kate VanWyck B.S.

KateKate is originally from Newaygo, and graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2006. She and her husband Brad live in Grand Rapids with their son James, dog Eva, and cats Chloe and Ringo. When not at work, you will find Kate and her family enjoying the outdoors hiking and kayaking, or braving the Michigan winters on snowshoes.

Anita Villa-Woodrum

Anita has been working with Dr Jackson since 2007. She moved to the lakeshore area after graduating St Mary’s University in Notre Dame, Indiana. Although, she began her career in business, she eventually followed her passion and made a career working with animals. Since a child Anita has had a love of dogs. In high school she joined her local FFA chapter and so began another love for raising and showing pigs, lambs and steers. Her only great claim to fame is placing 3rd in the Houston Livestock and Rodeo with her beloved pig “Pork Chop”. To this day thinking of him will make her tear up. Anita lives in Grand Haven with her husband Mike and their two dogs, Jake and Coco. She loves to garden, hunt and fish. She also has a crazy love of quilting.

Jennifer Nelson

jennifer is originally from Marne. She now lives in Ravenna with her partner Justin, son Landon and dog Yuppie. In her free time Jennifer likes to fish, kayak and go camping. She has always had pets growing up and loved taking care of them, so she found a job doing what she loved.

Alicia Rios

Alicia is from Muskegon. Before joining the Lifetime team she had her own photography business. She began volunteering at the local animal shelter taking photos of the homeless dogs and cats to help them find homes. She worked in rescue for several years and this is where she found her passion for animal care. In her free time Alicia and her wife enjoy spending time at their family's cottage up north with their daughter and three dogs.

Randi Rice

Randi recently graduated from Michigan State University with her Bachelor in Physiology. She grew up in Nunica and attended Spring Lake High School. She hopes to one day attend veterinary school, but now lives with her parents, brother and two resuce dogs, Roxy and Lola. Her interests include reading and spending time with her family on their property in Ludington where they like to hike, camp and hunt.
